CURRICULUM & CLINICS

"Education, therefore, is a process of living and not a preparation for future living." -- John Dewey

By incorporating real-world issues and challenges into the curriculum through service-learning courses and community clinics, Widener faculty ensure that students learn not only in the abstract and theoretical, but also in the here and now. Service learning at Widener lets students test the ideas they learn in the classroom against the real world and see how well they hold up.

It also gives students the skills they will need to excel at whatever they choose-be it leadership in business, making a difference in their communities, or research and scholarship that generates fresh ideas for a future generation of students to test against the real world.
