Economic Impact

Widener is an important economic engine for the City of Chester and makes significant economic contribution each year to the metropolitan regions of Philadelphia and Harrisburg and the states of Pennsylvania and Delaware.

More Than $105 Million Annually in Productivity

In addition, more than 20,000 Widener alumni reside in the Philadelphia region and generate more than $105 million annually in productivity. Overall, alumni in Pennsylvania and Harrisburg generate $144 million annually in economic output.
