OFFICE OF COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

"Strange, isn't it? Each man's life touches so many other lives. When he isn't around he leaves an awful hole, doesn't he?"
-- Clarence Oddbody, It's a Wonderful Life

The role of Widener's Office of Community Engagement is to make it easier for everyone in the campus community to touch the lives of others. By promoting service learning in the classroom and helping faculty incorporate it into their teaching, by working with individuals and community organizations in Chester and throughout the region to create opportunities for campus-community cross-pollination, and by providing a clearinghouse for civic engagement on and off campus, the OCE plays a key role in advancing Widener's civic mission.
