Recognizing our commitment to producing active citizens engaged in the civic life of their communities, Project Pericles, a national organization that promotes education for social responsibility, invited Widener University to become a member in 2004.

As a Periclean university, Widener seeks to reverse the trend towards civic apathy among American youth by encouraging student participation in the political life of the community and exposing the campus to people whose public service work creates a better world for us all.
