Chamber Music Program

Widener University's chamber music and string performance program offers a relaxed and informal atmosphere in which to play chamber music. Designed to be flexible and sympathetic to participants' needs and schedules, the program introduces interested students to a repertoire that is both accessible and challenging.

Private lessons and regular rehearsals prepare the student for studio and chamber recitals.

Open to all Levels of Ability
The Chamber Ensemble, open to students of all levels, emphasizes ensemble playing. Student groups vary according to instrumentation and ability. Performance opportunities include recitals, chamber concerts, and mini-chamber recital, have featured the works of Beethoven, Mozart, Ravel, Glière, and Fauré. Academic credit is given for continued participation in the Chamber Ensemble.

Music Scholarships
Scholarship awards, in amounts between $2,000 and $5,000, are available for students who wish to continue instrumental study while pursuing another major.
