Special Needs Seating
Special needs seating is available for guests who have medical conditions. This seating is not closer to the commencement platform than general seating. Due to limited space, we will only be able to accommodate a few guests per party in the special needs seating area. Others in the party will need to sit in the general audience. Guests may also watch the ceremony broadcast live in one of our air-conditioned viewing areas. The graduate student ceremony (Friday) will be broadcast in Freedom Hall and the Webb Room in University Center. The undergraduate student ceremony (Saturday) will be broadcast in Alumni Auditorium and Founders Hall.
A sign language interpreter will be available. Please complete the online request form that will be posted here in March if you would like to be placed near the sign language interpreter.
A drop-off area is available for those with conditions that prevent them from walking distances.
Passes are required for special seating and drop-off areas. Students can obtain a pass by filling out the online request form that will be posted here in March.
Once a pass is approved, students can pick it up at the Bookstore. Requests must be made by 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, and passes should be picked up in the Bookstore in University Center by 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 14.
The Special Needs Seating pass will not grant admission to the Field House if there is inclement weather on Saturday. Guests who want to sit in the special needs seating area in the Field House on Saturday will need an Inclement Weather ticket in addition to the pass.
