Widener Names Chan Director of International Admissions
Candice Chan of Philadelphia, Pa. has been named director of international admissions
at Widener University. The new position is part of the university’s efforts to enhance
campus internationalization and prepare all students to live and work in a global
and multicultural society.
In this position, Chan will develop and manage all facets of Widener's international
recruitment and admissions program, working with faculty and staff to develop strategic plans and activities
that support the recruitment and retention of international students at both the undergraduate
and graduate levels.
Prior to joining Widener, Chan served as director of enrollment management operations,
international admissions, and graduate admissions at Catholic University of America
in Washington, D.C. Previously, she was senior assistant director of admissions and
graduate coordinator at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Fla., and started her career
in admissions at Widener in 1999 as an admissions counselor and assistant director
of international admissions.
A native of Hong Kong, Chan is fluent in Chinese and has recruited extensively in
Asia.

Chan earned a bachelor's degree in hotel and restaurant management from Widener in
1995, and a master's in business administration from Lynn University in 2003.
