Sports Broadcaster Ducis Rodgers named to Communication Studies Advisory Board
Ducis Rodgers, sports director for WPVI-TV Action News, has been named to the Widener University Communication Studies Advisory Board.
As a member of the Widener Communication Studies Advisory Board, Rodgers will work with fellow media professionals to contribute to the communication studies program by offering sound advice and serving as a departmental ambassador.
Rodgers reports on the area’s sports teams weeknights on Action News at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. and on Action News at 10 p.m on PHL17. He has 20 years of on-air experience in major markets. He was recently recognized as Best TV Sportscaster by Main Line Today.
Prior to joining the Action News sports team in August 2012, Rodgers spent several years at the ESPN anchor desk as a host of Sportscenter and Outside the Lines. He was also a play-by-play announcer for the NCAA Baseball Regionals and spent some time on ESPN First Take.
Rodgers graduated on the Dean's List from Columbia College Chicago with a degree in broadcast journalism
