Widener University has garnered a number of accolades from rankings and lists since the start of the school year, both for individual academic programs and for the university as a whole.

Two Widener University programs have been designated a 2016 Top Graduate Program by GraduatePrograms.com. Widener topped the list of Best Schools Offering Online Graduate Programs in Social Work and came in #32 on the list of Best Schools Offering Graduate Programs in Physical Therapy.

These lists are largely based on student reviews. Current students and recent graduates helped recognize Widener’s online social work and physical therapy graduate programs with positive feedback about their educational experiences.

“My graduate program is an extremely competitive program.  It is very challenging, yet do-able,” said Daria Porretta, a 2016 physical therapy graduate. “The program requires a lot of time during class and then encourages group studying outside of classes. The professors are very helpful and bright. ”

“Widener University was the best decision I have ever made in my life, and I have had to make many decisions in my youth,” said Alanna DiBiasi, who received her doctorate in physical therapy in 2015. “This past year of being out of Widener’s DPT program solidified my choice,” she continued. “I honestly couldn't have chosen a better place. So many opportunities were handed to me because of this place, and I am truly honored to have taken every opportunity this university has provided to me.”

“The Top Graduate Program designations underscore the record levels of student satisfaction that we are seeing in the Noel Levitz Student Satisfaction Inventory,” said Widener President Julie E. Wollman. According to this national survey conducted in 2015-2016, Widener students’ satisfaction with their education is six percentage points higher than the norm at four-year private colleges and universities.  Widener met or exceeded expectations for 83 percent of students.

“Our social work and physical therapy graduate programs are outstanding academic opportunities for professionals seeking advanced degrees. It’s gratifying to see them recognized this way,” Wollman added.

In addition to best lists generated by student reviews, Widener programs have received recent accolades from other sources, including:
