Widener University announces new assistant vice president for administration and finance

New appointment

The university has announced a new assistant vice president for administration and finance.

Widener University today announced the appointment of Linda Kiraly Gilbert as assistant vice president for administration and finance. Gilbert will begin her new position Nov. 12, 2018.

As assistant vice president, Gilbert will be responsible for the university’s Academic Financial Review model, compiling and analyzing the financial results of academic and administrative functions. She will also assist Senior Vice President for Administration and Finance Joseph J. Baker with his role overseeing the university’s administrative functions.

Gilbert comes to Widener from LaSalle University, where she serves as assistant vice president of Finance & Administration. Prior to that, she worked as budget director for The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

She holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting from the State University of New York at Geneseo and a Master of Business Administration from Temple University.

“We are pleased to welcome Linda Gilbert to Widener University. Her skills and experience will be a tremendous asset to our administration and finance office,” Baker said.

Gilbert lives in Philadelphia with her husband Mike and their two children.
