      New Associate Provost

      Widener Welcomes New Associate Provost

      Kim C. O'Halloran

Kim C. O’Halloran is the new associate provost and dean for Graduate Studies and Extended Learning.

Widener welcomed a new associate provost for Graduate Studies and Extended Learning this summer. Kim C. O’Halloran started on June 1.

“I am grateful to join Widener University at such an exciting time in the institution’s history,” O’Halloran said.

She will oversee the development and implementation of graduate programs, including ensuring programs are structured and delivered for student success. O’Halloran will also oversee the Office of Extended Learning, which includes all online degree programs at the university; associate and baccalaureate programs for working adults; and lifelong learning opportunities for older adults.

She has spent the last 25 years working in higher education, including posts at Rutgers University, Cornell University and New York University. She came to Widener from Montclair State University in New Jersey, where she served as associate dean of the college of Education and Human Services, and associate professor in the Department of Counseling and Educational Leadership.

Her research has focused on academic and student affairs collaboration in higher education, and the factors that impact persistence and success for non-traditional undergraduate and graduate students.

“I look forward to partnering with faculty and staff to further develop our graduate and extended learning programs and to ensure a high-quality academic experience for all students,” she said.

O’Halloran has a bachelor’s degree in English from Rutgers University, a master’s degree in education from Rutgers University and a Ph.D. in higher education administration from New York University. She lives in Swarthmore.
