      Faculty and Staff Giving Campaign

Faculty and Staff Encouraged to Invest in the Future of the University During Month-Long Campaign

      A Show of Appreciation

The Office of Development hosts a reception to thank faculty and staff who give to the university. At last year's reception, the acapella group Keepin' It Trill performed.

February marks the start of Widener's Faculty/Staff Giving Campaign. During the month-long effort, employees will receive information on the impact and importance of giving to the university and learn options on how they can make their gift.

All employees are encouraged to participate in the campaign by making a gift to the Widener Fund, which channels all funds to financial aid, or any program or initiative that is important to them.

A small cadre of faculty and staff who are already generous donors will be working with the Office of Development staff to support the efforts of the campaign. They will be reaching out in the coming weeks to their colleagues and co-workers and will serve as ambassadors to the campaign.

All gifts, no matter the amount, are greatly appreciated. The campaign focuses on participation as much as it does on the amount of money given. Outside funding sources often look to our employee participation rate to see how deeply invested those who know the university best – its faculty and staff – are invested in its future. Employee philanthropy also sets an example for our students, parents and alumni, showing them in a tangible way, that faculty and staff believe in Widener and its students.

Many Widener employees already provide financial support to the university, and this month provides a focused opportunity to thank them for their generosity. At the conclusion of the campaign, all those who give to Widener, both new and current donors, will be invited to a wine and hors d'oeuvre reception.
