      Betsy Crane

      In August, Betsy Crane, a professor in the Center for Human Sexuality Studies, along with Widener graduate Quinten Cruz and doctoral student Mark Levant, who studies how Catholic colleges and universities respond to sexuality issues, presented a program for Student Affairs staff at Misericordia University in Dallas, Pennsylvania. Approximately 75 people, including those from athletics, residence life and counseling, attended the program as part of the staff retreat.

      Dawn Ferry

      Dawn Ferry, director for Center of Simulation and Computerized Testing, has been named to the National League for Nursing's Coaching for Excellence consultant team. Ferry was selected through a competitive application process, which included sharing information about the simulation program she built for Widener nursing students, as well as practices she uses to build sound judgment skills in her students.

      Dawn Gulick

      Dawn Gulick, a professor in the Institute for Physical Therapy Education, is a finalist for The Philadelphia Inquirer's 2017 Stellar Start Up Awards. The awards, selected by an outside panel of judges, honors bright and cutting edge entrepreneurs who are daring and dedicated to creating products and services that improve people's lives while also fueling the economic growth of the company. The winners will be announced Sept. 12 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at The Franklin Institute.

      Rebecca Jones

      Rebecca Jones, associate professor of political science, presented a paper "What's the EU? Preparing US students for EuroSim" at the European Union Studies Association conference in Miami in May. Jones presented the same paper and chaired a panel at the Council for European Studies conference at the University of Glasgow, in Glasgow, Scotland in July.
