      Articulation Agreement

Administrators and faculty at Widener University Delaware Law School and Delaware Technical Community College signed an articulation agreement in November.

Widener University Delaware Law School recently entered into an articulation agreement with Delaware Technical Community College. The agreement will give Delaware Tech students the opportunity to earn a bachelor of science in legal studies following their completion of a criminal justice associate degree at Delaware Tech.

The bachelor's degree from Widener also carries a paralegal certificate in criminal law, as well as a general certificate in paralegal studies.

"It is an honor to welcome students from Delaware Technical Community College to our legal studies program," said assistant dean and executive director for graduate, international, compliance, and legal studies Eileen Grena-Piretti. "It is an honor to partner with such a great state school."

Under the agreement, students who have completed their associate degree with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher will automatically be accepted into the legal studies baccalaureate program at Delaware Law School and can transfer up to 57 credits from their associate's degree to the legal studies program at the law school.

At the articulation agreement signing, Delaware Law School Dean Rod Smolla said, "The Widener University Delaware Law School is thrilled to once again sign an articulation agreement with Delaware Tech, as we continue to enlarge the friendship and cooperation between these two Delaware educational institutions. The agreement will be good for both institutions, for our shared students, and for the state of Delaware."

This agreement is the eighth connected degree program that Delaware Tech has with Widener University in areas such as business, hospitality management, and computer information systems.
