Attendance

All policies will follow 24 PS 13-1332. In any case where a local policy is considered not to conform to said law, the law will take precedence.  In order to be considered “in attendance” a student must be in the classroom from the time of the opening signal until dismissal unless validly absent according to the prescriptions of this policy and the PA School Code.  If the student is not in attendance during a part of the instructional day, that student will be marked as tardy or dismissed accordingly.

Students who leave school prior to dismissal, but return during the instructional day will be marked as returned.  Parents of a child who is absent or tardy will be contacted by office personnel to verify a legitimate and excused absence. The school will highly encourage attendance and will strive to partner with parents in ensuring low absenteeism rates.
