Student Evaluation

Evaluation of students' mastery of the curriculum will include assessments through cooperative learning groups, as well as through culminating projects and portfolios.

Students will also be assessed on their ability to effectively use technology and to express themselves creatively through various forms of the arts. Detailed narrative accounts documenting student progress will supplement the assignment of letter grades as indicators of student achievement.  All student testing, will support the overarching goal to nurture students who are critical thinkers.

Student Portfolios

A primary means of assessing whether the school curriculum is meeting its goals will be through the assessment of student portfolios. Standardized testing will supply an additional assessment yardstick.  State and federally mandated standardized assessments of student performance (including the PSSA tests) will be used to document progress in improving the performance of students in the school relative to state and federal benchmarks of student academic performance.
