"Senior Prom" - April 2008

The freshmen Presidential Service Corps members jitter bugged into the hearts of area seniors as organizers of the inaugural Senior Prom. As the freshmen class service project, the “Nifty Fifties” dance in Lathem Hall featured retro décor and jukebox tunes.  To read more about this event, and to see pictures of dance, visit the PSC Projects webpage.

 

 

Philadelphia Speaker Series


Colin Powell

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell delivered a message of optimism and hope before a packed house at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia.  Presidential Service Corps members were invited to attend the Philadelphia Speaker Series, meeting with Mr. Powell after the event to discuss current issues and future goals.


 

Madeline Albright

President Harris and members of the Presidential Service Corps with Madeleine Albright, former Secretary of State. Ms. Albright shared her insights with the audience at the Philadelphia Speaker Series held in Philadelphia's Kimmel Center. 

 

Bolivia Project, January 2007

Several Presidential Service Corps members and Widener staff traveled to Bolivia in January 2007 to assist in building a new school for local residents.  In addition to performing service during their twelve-day stay,  each participant was able to learn more about the culture and people that make the region so unique. 

Widener Staff Participants:  PSC members were accompanied by Dr. Harris (Widener President), Professor Urraca (Spanish Department), and Professor Ledoux (Center for Education).
