You’ll have a single bed, a desk, a study chair, and a wardrobe or dresser. Since not all rooms have overhead lights, we suggest that you bring a study lamp. Housekeeping personnel clean only public areas and bathrooms.
You must supply the products and equipment to clean your room. You must also supply your own linens, dishes, pots and pans, utensils, and paper products. Apartments come with bedroom furniture only (except in Metropolitan Hall - other basic furnishings are provided).
Resident Assistants (RA)
A Resident Assistant (RA) is there to assist you in learning and understanding the policies of the University and to familiarize you with the locations and names of resources. As residence life staff members, they also enforce the University's policies. RAs go through extensive training in the summer to give them the skills to deal with situations that arise in the residence halls.
Graduate Assistants (GA)
Graduate Assistants possess a bachelor’s degree and are working toward their graduate degree. They supervise the RAs in their duties. GA’s & RA’s work to create community in the residence halls. They enforce policies so that everyone can be assured of living in an environment conducive to academic success.
Telephone Service
The university provides each room with an active telephone line, but you need to bring your own telephone. All on-campus calls are included in your room rate. Local and long distance is available and is handled through STC Services. This service gives you the ability to make local and long distance calls from your room at a discounted rate. For more information, call 1-877-454-4860.
Television Service
Every room has an outlet for the University cable television system. Each room can receive TV channels, cable channels, and superstations. You’ll find everything from ABC to MTV to CNN. The campus cable system supports cable-ready TVs and VCRs. However, please remember that you will only receive as many channels as your equipment allows.
