ENGINEERING SUMMER CAMP
JULY 2008
Widener's Engineering Summer Camp was developed by engineering faculty at Widener to introduce high school students to the field of engineering in a nurturing, noncompetitive, "hands-on" environment.
Students experience a four-day schedule full of computer workshops, demonstrations, films, laboratory exercises, discussion groups, and presentations, all while having fun. High school students make concrete blocks, launch soda bottle rockets and explore the fields of chemical, civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering.
Sessions are open to students entering grades 10, 11, and 12 in the fall of 2008. All sessions are held on Widener's Main Campus in Chester, Pennsylvania. A resident program (room, board, and planned activites) is available.
Sessions meet from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

TESTIMONIALS
"The whole program was a lot of fun and well varied: we built robots from Legos, used K'NEX to construct bridges, designed a wind tunnel, and made blocks of concrete. It was great!"
— Jim King
"The only thing I would change about the Engineering Summer Camp is to make it longer, because I really enjoyed it."
— David Henry
