CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS

Post-master's (PM) certificate programs are offered in all clinical specialty areas as well as in nursing education.

Family Nurse Practitioner 
The 33-credit post-master's family nurse practitioner (FNP) program is available on both the Main and Harrisburg Campuses and can be completed in 18 months of full-time or 24 months of part-time study. To be eligible for national certification examinations, students need to have completed 672 hours of advanced clinical practice. 

Clinical Specialist Certificates

The clinical specialist certificates, available on the Main Campus, can be completed in 12 months of full-time study and 15 to 18 months of part-time study. Credits and clinical practice hours vary with the selected clinical specialty options. The clinical options are:

  • Adult Health Nursing
  • Community-Based Nursing
  • Emergency/Critical Care Nursing
  • Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing

A minimum of 500 hours of advanced clinical practice is required for eligibility for national certification examinations.

Nursing Education Certificate 
The 15-credit nursing education certificate is available for advance practice nurses who would like a background in nursing education.
