Bachelor of Science in Allied Health   

University College of Widener University is offering the complete Bachelor of Science in Allied Health degree with a choice of either a minor in Applied Supervision or Instructional Methods and Technology. In addition to a traditional classroom-based format, the degree is offered in a distance learning format. Web-based courses enable students to use the Internet and Web courseware to communicate with faculty and classmates without meeting on campus for lectures or exams.

University College's allied health degree program is open only to those holding associate degrees or hospital certificate/s in allied health professions. The degree permits students to complete a minor or select courses that will enhance their personal and professional goals. Advanced standing of 30, 40, or 51 semester hours of bloc credit is awarded to students based on the type of approved allied health program* completed prior to enrolling at University College.

The opportunity for earning credits is not limited to your initial certification; any additional certifications may qualify as well. The additional certifications will be evaluated and awarded on a case by base basis.

Applied Supervison

The applied supervision minor/certificate program is practical and applications oriented. It is designed for individuals who seek the skills required for entry-level supervisory positions. This certificate is only offered online. Students should have a minimum of 30 college credits and complete ENGL 101 prior to enrolling.

Instructional Methods and Technology

The instructional methods and technology certificate program is designed for individuals who desire an understanding of working with adults in an educational setting. It emphasizes adult education in the professional setting and the integration of technology in the classroom. It is also an on-line program, but offered in a face-to-face setting at the worksite. Students must have completed a minimum of 60 college credits prior to enrolling.

Admission Procedure:

An official evaluation for admission will be mailed to you when you have submitted the following:

  • A completed application
  • Official transcripts from any colleges or universities attended.

  • Current copy of Allied Health Certification and/or Registry

Course Selection Registration Procedure:

Complete and submit the course selection form.
Upon receipt of your completed course selection form, a course packet will be mailed to you with specific course instructions.

Allied health professionals may choose to take one or two courses per semester and may begin working toward their on-line degree starting in the spring, summer, or fall semester. Semesters start in January, May, and September.
