Intramurals & Club Sports

Our intramural sports programs are hosted by Sports & Recreation. These co-curricular activities complement the formal academic curriculum. A variety of competitive and structured activities are offered to full-time undergraduate students every year provides opportunities to learn new sports and to meet others with similar interests.

Participation in the program is voluntary and determined by student interest.

Sports & Recreation activities generally take on a league structure and a post-season tournament to determine champions. Tournaments may range from a single day to several days .

Club Sports

Club Sports compete against other regional college clubs. The Widener University clubs operate under student leadership. The Wellness Center provides guidance for all club sports.

Wellness Center: A Year In Review

  • Members logged nearly 8,000 hours and 35,000 miles on the treadmills since the facility’s opening - that’s the same as traveling around the world 1.5 times!
  • Over 52,000 workouts have been logged in the Wellness Center from April 2006 to April 2007!
  • More than 25 different clubs/organizations on campus have used the Wellness Center’s Media Room.
  • The Wellness Center hosted over ten different classes for Widener staff and faculty!
