I (they/them/él) am a queer, trans, Cuban-American social worker with over a decade of experience providing psychotherapy and wellness education in non-profit, community mental health, higher education, and medical settings.
I am personally and professionally committed to social justice work and have engaged through several platforms: as an activist and community organizer, HIV/AIDS prevention counselor, graduate social work professor, and as a language interpreter. I believe that being trans affirming includes addressing the impact of systemic oppression by advocating for clients and working toward the intersectional healing of collective trauma.
I aim to facilitate a collaborative, empowering, and enjoyable learning experience for all. I currently work at a college counseling center and in private practice, providing online and in-person psychotherapy, coaching, clinical supervision, and training. I am thrilled to be a part of the Affirmative Therapy for Transgender Communities training program team.
