About Me

As a business professional with 25 years of experience in hospitality, human resources, business ownership and higher education, I combine practice with scholarship. I have been teaching at the university level since 2009 and design and instruct courses in the online, hybrid, and face-to-face seated format to graduates and undergraduates (adult and traditional age). I have a passion for the adult learner and the use of flexible environments and technology as a way to facilitate learning.

In August 2012, I completed my doctorate in higher education leadership. My dissertation was titled Hybrid Course Design: Faculty Approaches, Essential Components, and the Impact of Professional Development in Community Colleges. Hybrid, online, and flexible learning continues to be at the top of my research interests.

My strong entrepreneurial spirit is the foundation for my transferable skill set which includes skills such as organization, innovation, implementation, and effective project management.

Research Interests

My research interests include a variety of areas related to hybrid course design and delivery, professional development of faculty, organic collaboration among graduate students, pedagogical considerations for online and hybrid course design and delivery, flexible course design and delivery, and use of educational technology in the learning community.
