About Me

I began teaching in the Center for Human Sexuality Studies and the Graduate Programs in Higher Education in 2007 and was also a Visiting Assistant Professor in Human Sexuality Studies at Widener University from 2017-2019. I was hired into a two-year role to infuse more social justice education into the curriculum. My favorite courses to teach are: HSED 501 Sexuality and Society in a Cross-Cultural Perspective, HSED 594 History and Ethics in Human Sexuality, and a newly developed elective HSED 588 Sexuality in Higher Education. I am also a graduate of the doctoral program and a proud Widener alum.

In addition to teaching, I have a parallel career as a university administrator. I am currently the Dean of Enrollment, Engagement, and Diversity at the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design. I have spent much of my career in diversity and inclusion and LGBTQIA+ work in higher education and am the founding director of two LGBT Centers at Princeton University and the University of California, Santa Barbara. Current Widener students as well as my former students should never hesitate to ask if I can ever be a resource around CHSS or higher education.
