About Me

My teaching philosophy reflects my beliefs in collaborations and community building. I prefer a constructivist and student-centered teaching approach that encourages learning by both students and educator. The classroom dynamic that I establish encourages critical self-reflection, dialogue, and active participation. I believe that the classroom is one of the first places to develop collegiality.

I create activities that support rapport building between the students and provide an opportunity to think and talk out important life experiences together in smaller and larger groups. This approach to education is based on Mezirow's Transformational Learning Theory that asserts how essential it is for learners to be autonomous thinkers and become critically reflective of the underlying intentions, values, beliefs, and feelings about all aspects of life and living including any assumptions that are held.
