About Me

My name is Julie Heydeman and I am the director of Social Work Counseling Services and the Integrated Professional Studies Program. I am alumni of both the Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work program as well as Social Work Counseling Services in the Clinical Services for Vulnerable Adults (CSVA) program.

In addition to interning at the CSVA, I have spent the last two years supporting and supervising interns at the Widener Partnership Charter School (WPCS). In 2018 I founded the Integrated Professional Studies program (IPS) here at Widener, enabling students with intellectual differences to attend mainstream college classes, professional development and even internship opportunities.

Noteworthy

  • Julie Heydeman was among the young local leaders named to Main Line Today’s 30 Under 30 list for her role as program coordinator of Widener’s inclusive higher education program. The first-of-its-kind program at Widener is designed for students with intellectual disabilities to take classes, interact socially and build on resume skills to advance their careers. Heydeman, a two-time Widener graduate, spearheaded and secured funding to launch the program in 2018 while finishing her undergraduate degree.
