About Me

I received my undergraduate education in nursing, cum laude with a dual major in religious studies from Neumann University. I was a recipient of a sun scholarship awarded to a non-traditional, adult student. Attaining my undergraduate degrees while managing the roles of wife and mother of three children led me to realize my capabilities, leading me to a varied and successful career of 30 years. As an educator, I choose to inspire all students to discover their potential and the power of the "self" as they pursue their passions.

Research Interests

Cultural diversity, literacy and health literacy and trans-cultural population nursing have been core elements of my clinical practice and educator role both in academia and industry for over a decade. My experiences have provided me the foundation and impetus to explore the issues of global nursing and the values, ethical principles and responsibilities that become the student of professional nursing in the context of a global society.
