The following checklist items will give you an overview of all of the steps that will need to be completed before you begin your academic and student journey as part of the Widener family. For interactive, real-time next steps, access your Applicant Status Portal

  • Complete the priority steps detailed above.    
  • Apply for housing
    Ready to call Widener home? Online housing applications are due by May 1. Log onto the housing portal using your myWidener email and password. Once you log in, you will see "housing application" on the left. Follow the steps and be sure to print out your confirmation once finished. You will receive an official letter from the Office of Residence Life via email indicating your housing assignment information by August 1. The online housing application will be available in early spring.

  • Complete the math assessment
    Completing a mathematics assessment is optional for students who wish to challenge their math placement. Engineering or science majors will be notified directly if completing the math assessment is required. The deadline for completion is one week prior to attending Pride Experience I

  • Mail final transcript
    Request your high school counselor mail your transcripts directly to Widener Admissions by August 1. We'll take it from there! 
  • Forward college credit scores
    Did you complete AP, IB, or dual enrollment classes? Make sure you get credit by sending your scores by August 1.

  • Create your new student ID (Campus1Card)
    Log into the system using your myWidener username and password. You will receive your ID card at Fall Orientation. This task must be completed prior to your arrival to campus in June or July. If you experience any issues creating your ID, please email campus1card@widener.edu.

  • Submit health forms
    Once you're here, you'll have access to our Student Health Services clinic, so it's important we have up-to-date health history and immunization records. Required forms should be submitted by June 25 or dropped off at the clinic during your Summer Registration session.

    This free, online alert system is used to communicate urgent news—like campus emergencies and class cancelations—directly to your cell phone or email account.

  • Purchase a parking permit
    To park in an on-campus lot, you'll need to have a parking permit. Permits are valid for the academic year, expiring the last day in August. More information will be provided on parking permits prior to the start of the academic year.

  • Meet your advisor and register for classes
    Log in to the application portal to view your transfer credit statement and request a meeting with an advisor. Your advisor will help you get a clear understanding of what credits will transfer, when you can expect to graduate, and how to register for classes. Please note that you may be required to take a math assessment prior to meeting with your advisor.

  • Apply for housing
    Ready to call Widener home? Please complete our convenient, online housing application. Log onto the housing portal using your new Widener email and password. Once you log in, you will see "housing application" on the left. Follow the steps and be sure to print out your confirmation once finished.     In addition to our many residence halls, Widener also offers transfer students the unique opportunity to live with other transfer students in the "transfer house". Contact the Office of Residence Life for more information.

Special Requirements by Program

ACCELERATED NURSING PROGRAM

  • Laptops
    All incoming students are required to bring their laptop to orientation to access Widener's system and register for fall semester courses.

  • CastleBranch Background Check
    All incoming students are required to complete an FBI background, child abuse, and health requirements check, monitored by CastleBranch, a background screening and document tracking company used by Widener University.

  • Uniforms & Equipment
    All incoming students are required to have proper uniform and equipment to participate in labs and clinicals. Vendors will be on-site during orientation to to provide students with the option to order or purchase items the same day. Cash and credit card are accepted.
