Equitable school counseling support for students with autism: A strength-based approach

Drawing on his own experience as a school counselor and his research on fathers and families of students with autism, Dr. Michael D. Hannon will share strategies for school counselors to holistically support the personal, social, and career development of students on the spectrum. As a result of attending the session, participants will:
- Develop a deeper understanding of how autism affects the family system
- Determine how their schools'/institutions' climate help facilitate or disrupt these students' success;
- Learn strategies to assess the strengths students with autism possess to support their wellbeing
