This CEU event for Social Work professions will include an introduction to the Biographical Timeline; an assessment, team building, direct support development, and planning for therapeutic and daily life changes for individuals who have experienced trauma, through an empathetic lens.

Presenter - Beth I. Barol PhD, LSW, BCB,NADD-CC

Dr. Beth Barol has dedicated the past 43 years to serving and supporting people with Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD) who also have complex needs. She has been working with Biographical Timelines for over 30years.

After working in a community- based agency for 19 years, she became the Clinical Director of the Pennsylvania Office of Mental Retardation’s Training and Technical Assistance Initiative.  Her responsibilities included directing the Positive Approaches/Dual Diagnosis Initiative, building a statewide network including state facilities and community programs, providing clinically based training and consultation, and statewide annual trauma institutes for clinicians.

She is currently and Associate Professor in Widener University’s Center for Social Work Education and she is the Co-Director of CSVA, a clinic serving vulnerable adults. Dr. Barol consults nationally and internationally.
