Your Guide to Fall Orientation

Fall Orientation is your official welcome to Widener University.

Complete Mandatory Orientation Modules

All incoming new and transfer students are required to complete the following educational modules:

  • Your Campus and COVID-19: Protecting Your Health
  • Healthy Relationships & Dating Violence
  • Impressions: Examining Student Sexual Assault
  • Know Your Limit: Alcohol Awareness

Modules must be completed by Monday, Sept 28 to remain in good standing. You'll receive access instructions via your Widener email starting on Wednesday, Aug 19.

… and we’re off! The virtual Fall Orientation Program officially kicks off with remarks from the Office of Student Engagement. We will take time to introduce our incoming class to our professional staff, excited team of CREW Leaders, and provide an overview of what to expect over the next two days and your first month at Widener University.  Registration Closed

True Life: We Attend Widener University
Join your assigned C.R.E.W. Leader virtually to discuss a variety of topics to prepare you for the first week of classes and help you further connect with other members of the Class of 2024. Register via instructions in email

Grit and Resiliency for Today's College Student
In this highly engaging and relevant session, students will learn what it truly takes to not only survive college but to thrive. Grit for college students helps increase personal resiliency, tenacity, and perseverance. Link in email

Virtual Campus Tour
Join our C.R.E.W. Leaders for a virtual tour of campus on Instagram Live. Please follow @engagewidener on Instagram and be on the look out for our live story beginning at 3:00 p.m. to help get a better sense of campus from a student's perspective. Registration Closed

Virtual Pride Night: Daniel Martin Magic! (optional)
Daniel Martin brings an awesome virtual show boasting exhilarating magic, sarcastic improv, and hilarious audience participation. His award-winning show has been seen by millions on CBS, NBC, WGN, VH1, Discovery, and most recently the "Top 100" magic acts of all time! Don't miss out! Link in email

Academic Convocation and Pride Statue Ceremony



Academic Convocation is a joyous occasion that marks the beginning of your academic career at Widener University. The Class of 2024 will be officially welcomed by President Wollman and invited to listen to our keynote speaker, Jayne Thompson, as she discusses the first-year experience. Academic Convocation is open to parents and families.

Join your SGA President to learn about the tradition of the Pride Statue and hear well wishes on behalf of the Widener student community.

Please use the Zoom meeting links emailed to your Widener email account from the Office of Student Engagement.

Students will have an opportunity to connect with their academic home on campus and virtually engage with their academic advisors and other administrations in their school or college to learn more about what to expect in the upcoming academic year and how to prepare.

Virtual Pride Night: Eric Dittelman Mind Reader! (optional)
Ever wonder what it would be like to know what someone else was thinking? What if you knew exactly what someone else was going to do before they did it? Eric Dittelman knows what that's like and does it well! Often known by just his surname, Dittelman combines amazing mind reading with stand-up and improv comedy. You don't want to miss out! Optional Weekend Sessions

Be sure to take a moment to catch your break and prepare for classes by confirming how to access your classes, preparing your books and notebooks, reading your syllabuses, preparing your home work station, and ensuring you have all your supplies ready.

All programs during the weekend are optional but designed with fun and flexibility in mind. Your C.R.E.W. Leader is available to assist with any needs between 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Be sure to stay connected to your personal GroupMe with your C.R.E.W. Leader and Orientation group.

Quizzo: Disney+ Edition
Join your Student Government Association (SGA) for a game of Quizzo—a live trivia game that will allow students to join teams and work together to answer fun and challenging Disney-themed trivia questions. Widener '24 BINGO Bonanza
Join the Pride Activities Council (PAC) as they host the first exclusive BINGO event of the semester just for the Class of 2024! Prizes available. Space is limited and available on a first-come first serve basis. Registration Closed

Netflix PJ Party
Grab the snacks, get in some comfy clothes, and join the Commuter Student Association (CSA) for a Netflix Party for the Class of 2024! Registration Closed

Conduct Matters & Maximize Your Buzz (required)

Join our Assistant Dean of Students and your fellow C.R.E.W. Leaders to discuss student conduct standards at Widener University.

Through comedy, multimedia, and practical advice, students will learn to make values-based choices about alcohol to change and shift perceptions.

The Freedom to Be Yourself (required)
This is a conversation among friends, strangers, and everyone in between. The audience co-creates the conversation through a game called Controversy that sparks enlightening conversations about things that typically cause controversy. As much as this discussion is about diversity, it's also about being a leader, stepping outside of our own comfort zones to understand others, and knowing when to lead others to a higher level. Mental Health and Wellness Workshop & One Reason Why Not (required)

Join the Center for Counseling and Psychological Services for an overview of campus resources and brief presentation on how to promote healthy living.

Mental health challenges are a leading obstacle facing today's college students, but let's join together and discuss how 1 Reason Why can help!
