Jonathan Thomson '11, erstwhile editor of The Dome, invokes the spirit of Julius Caesar on this year's Ides of March. Video.

On Nov. 17, 2010, members of Widener's community gathered near the site of the new academic building to leave their mark on the structure. Slideshow.

The community has spoken! After casting almost 1,000 votes, students, alumni, faculty, and staff have selected "Chester" and "Melrose" as the names for our mascots.

Host your own radio or TV show. Be a Big Brother or Sister to a local kid in need. Travel to Panama to help a remote village produce its own solar energy.

At Widener, our commitment to experiential learning and civic mission extends beyond our academic buildings and into our residence halls and public spaces. We provide opportunities for students to emerge as leaders, and we are committed to developing our students into educated young adults, engaged citizens, and lifelong learners. Students have access to more than 80 clubs that cater to a number of interests, from academics and athletics to religion and politics. If you don't see one you like, we'll help you start your own!

Students go backpacking in the Appalachian Mountains. We campaign for local candidates, and help struggling families file their tax returns. We build houses for Habitat for Humanity chapters across the country. We help implement environmental awareness campaigns around the region. We perform dance routines at Philadelphia 76ers half-time shows. We play rugby, sing gospel and choral music, and act in theater performances.

We do some pretty awesome things — but we have lots of fun doing them. Contact the Office of Student Life for more information.
