    Taking the Unexpected Journey to Finding Happiness in Your Career

    Kristin Weldon Peri grew up wanting to become either a judge or an artist. The Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania-native followed the more practical advice of friends and family and started down the legal path, earning a bachelor's in business administration from Widener in 1998 and a law degree from Widener Law three years later. Soon after she began working as a defense attorney in Philadelphia, building a foundation for becoming a judge.

    Clinics of Care: Amidst Healthcare Crisis, Widener Serves the Underserved

    On a gray mid-afternoon less than a week before Christmas, men and women line up about twenty deep in a chilly wind and wait on the sidewalk to get inside Cityteam, an aid organization housed in a rehabilitated, red-brick factory building on the corner of Sproul Street and West 7th in the heart of Chester. The crowd is here to pick up fruits and vegetables donated to the needy by local grocery stores and arranged on folding tables in the first-floor hallway.

    The Philadelphia Speakers Series presented by Widener University celebrated its 10 season this year, and on Monday, Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter closed the season by recognizing Widener's contribution to the cultural life of the city with an official tribute.
