The Widener University Art Gallery will host AFFINITIES Women Artists - Women's Inspiration from September 2 through October 11. The exhibition includes the creative works of five local women artists who have chosen "affinity partners," artists whose work they admire and with whom they have a stylistic or theme-based connection. The exhibition is presented by the Regional center for Women in the Arts.

The Poynter Institute, a global leader in journalism, held "Journalism and the Web@25: Lessons in Disruption, Evolution and Endurance" hosted at the Ford Foundation on July 29. The "Web@25" panel was sponsored by Widener University, PR Newswire and Widmeyer Communications.

Dr. Kenneth Pobo, professor of English and creative writing, has released a new chapbook of poetry titled "When the Light Turns Green," through Spruce Alley Press, a new publishing company started by James Esch, an English and creative writing lecturer at Widener.

Dr. Dipendu Saha, assistant professor of chemical engineering, recently secured an Undergraduate New Investigator Research Grant from the American Chemical Society Petroleum Research Fund for his research on methane adsorption in micro-mesoporous carbons.
