Assistive Solutions for Everyday Life

If you or someone you care for could benefit from an assistive device or adaptive tool, the OT Maker’s Lab can help explore solutions designed around individual needs and daily activities, including:

  • Customized assistive tools
  • Adaptive grips and supports
  • Accessibility-focused modifications
  • Everyday solutions that support independence

Step 1 – Explore the Catalog

You have received access to the Maker’s Lab catalog through our established partnerships.

Step 2 – Explore Additional Options (Optional)

If a desired item is not listed, you may search Thingiverse.com.

Requested items must have an estimated print time of 5 hours or less. We will inform you if an item you request exceeds this limit.

Step 3 – Submit Request via Email

Email us at widenerexercisegroup@gmail.com including:

  • Requested item(s) (please do not request more than 3 items at a time)
  • Any questions or concerns

Step 4 – Review & Waiver

We will respond to confirm the details and provide a waiver form for you to complete through Google Forms.

Step 5 – Printing Process

Please allow at least 2 weeks for requested items to be printed.

Step 6 – Notification of Completion

You will receive an email when your print(s) are ready.

Step 7 – Pick-Up Scheduling

Pick-up occurs at:
Wollman Hall, Widener University (Chester Campus)
1720 Melrose Ave, Chester, PA

Available hours: Monday–Thursday, 4 PM – 7 PM

Adjustments will be communicated during holidays or university closures.

Student Interprofessional Care Experiences in PT & OT

Widener's physical and occupational therapy services is an affiliate of the Chester Community Clinic, a student-run, pro-bono clinic offering physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, nursing, clinical psychology, and social work services to uninsured and underinsured members of the community. You will have the opportunity to work closely and collaboratively with your peers across the health professions to develop comprehensive, holistic, interdisciplinary plans of care.

Preparing the Next Generation of Healthcare Providers

At the pro bono clinic, you will help clients regain their mobility and get their lives back on track, while learning and perfecting your own techniques under the mentorship of licensed physical and occupational therapists.
