About Me
I am thrilled to be a part of Widener’s Center for Social Work Education! I am a licensed social worker who holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Temple University and a Master of Science in Social Work with a concentration in policy practice from Columbia University. A Baltimore area native, I have resided in Philadelphia now for over 17 years and have been working with children and families throughout my entire time here.
Professionally, my experience has been across child welfare programs, with a special interest in prevention work, addressing needs within adoption communities, and working with older youth in care. In addition to the child welfare and non-profit management experience, I have done a great deal of training and teaching around topics of grief and loss, trauma, transracial adoption, attachment, child development, and disability.
In my administrative role, I am privileged to support and witness emerging social work professionals on their journey as students in the MSW Online Program. As a graduate of an online MSW program myself, I am keenly aware of the nuances and power of online education and need to build a strong community virtually. I look forward to continuing to encourage and assist all our social work students and professionals through this incredible online journey!
