About Me

My name is Ian Jackson and I am the Associate Director of Housing Operations. My office is located in the SET Suite in the University Center across from the Pride Café.

I have always lived in the Southeastern PA region. I was born in Springfield and grew up in Collegeville. I went to Lebanon Valley College where I studied economics and swam for 4 years (funny enough my first college meet was here at Widener!). I was an orientation leader for two years, which started my passion for working in higher education. After graduating, I worked in Student Affairs and Residence Life at Rosemont College.

When I'm not working, I love to watch movies and tv. I am a fan of big franchises like Harry Potter, Star Wars, Marvel, DC, Lord of the Rings, etc. I also like to go hiking when it's warm and snowboarding when it's cold. I play a lot of board games, my favorites probably being Settlers of Catan or Dungeon & Dragons. I will always be available for students here at Widener, whether you need help or if you just want to pass the time between classes!

Personal Insight for Students

Many people will say that college was the best years of their lives. That may be true for some, but don't forget that your time in college is also supposed to prepare yourself for the rest of your life! Be open to everything, learn as much as you can, and create life-long friendships.
