About Me

I began my occupational therapy journey at Thomas Jefferson University (BS and MS) and 15 years later went to Chatham University for my Post-Professional Doctorate in Occupational Therapy. Clinically, I have worked in various settings with experience across the lifespan, from infancy to older adulthood. My clinical concentration has been with adults and older adults in home care. While working in home care, I received my Aging in Place Certification (CAPS)  for home modifications. I continue to practice occupational therapy in a home care setting.

Over the years, I have developed a passion for teaching. Prior to joining Widener University, I was an adjunct at Thomas Jefferson University and an academic fieldwork coordinator and assistant professor at Harcum College. My past teaching responsibilities included behavioral health and neurorehabilitation, applied project in neurorehabilitation, abnormal and developmental psychology, social science in the workplace, assessment and intervention for the adult and older adult, clinical skills throughout the lifespan, kinesiology, and functional anatomy. I’ve grown to utilize evidence and experience to assist a diverse population of students with course teaching strategies and organizational skills in achieving academic success.

I’m an active member of the Philadelphia Region Fieldwork and Capstone Consortium, where I serve as the Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) Ad-Hoc Committee chair. My doctoral capstone focused on the impact of education in JEDI on self-efficacy in occupational therapy faculty members. Justice, equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging are essential topics to me in occupational therapy education and the healthcare system as a whole.
