About Me
I started my OT career working primarily in pediatrics after graduating with my MOT from University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. Over the years, I have worked in a variety of pediatric settings including outpatient, schools, and IU classrooms, geriatrics, and home care, but found my niche working with young adults with disabilities post-transition from the school system. This population was the focus of my OTD capstone that I completed at Temple University in 2017.
I started working in academia soon after my MOT graduation as an adjunct professor at University of the Sciences. I started working full time in academia after my OTD graduation as faculty at University of the Sciences now Saint Joseph's University. Soon after starting as faculty, I joined the fieldwork team as an Academic Fieldwork Coordinator and continued in that role until I joined the IOTE at Widener University.
I have integrated my passion for education with a strong commitment to supporting the occupational therapy needs of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) by mentoring and collaborating with fieldwork and capstone students. I also serve on AOTA’s Developmental Disabilities Special Interest Section Standing Committee.
Research Interests
My research interests include occupational Therapy needs of adults with IDD, and the use of technology to support adults with IDD.
