- Current Undergraduate Students
We will be discussing presentations of trauma in adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), as well as considerations for clinicians, caregivers, and support staff in supporting clients with IDD who have experienced trauma. By exploring two case studies we will illustrate the use of creative interventions and art therapy to build trust and rapport, process trauma, and address behavioral concerns with clients with complex trauma and ongoing behavioral challenges. Participants will be invited to engage in a creative exercise to practice self-reflection.
