CEU: But How Do You Actually Do Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy? Three Clients, Three Treatment Protocols

Psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy has captured the imagination of clinicians and clients alike. Ask what it actually looks like though, and even seasoned therapists who use ketamine-assisted psychotherapy give the same unglamorous answer: it depends.
Ketamine has some unique features outpatient psychotherapists can leverage with therapy impasses. Issues like frequency of medicine journey, low/psycholytic/psychedelic dosing options, live/virtual/unmonitored, individual/couples/groups, are built and modified as the work unfolds.
Rather than a general overview of ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP), we will build out 3 conceptual case studies — the stuck clients and clinical impasses that actually populate our outpatient practices — and illustrate 3 KAP approaches to moving the client’s material forward. Each case is anchored to one of ketamine's core features:
- Anesthetic Feature: Lived Experience
- Neuroplasticity: Psycholytic Witch Whispering
- Dissociative Feature: Curating an Observing Ego
You'll leave with vivid, concrete pictures of how you'd actually use this medicine — with a client, or in your own journey of healing. For KAP trained clinicians, you will leave with concrete case conceptualization tools for you protocol approach.

- Registration: Registering is the only way to receive CEUs. If you would like to attend but do not need CEUs, you may attend for free! Advance registration is required for all attendees. CEU events and CEUs are free for current Widener students, faculty, and field instructors. Widener alumni need to pay $10; everyone else, $25. After the event, you will be emailed your certificate.
