Widener and the Philadelphia Union are partnering again for the “Work in Sports” field trips that expose area high school students to careers in professional sports. The three-day series kicks off today and will feature presentations by Widener business, communication studies, and physical therapy faculty members, as well as Union employees, highlighting topics such as game-day experience, high-end hospitality, sporting communications, sports medicine, player relations, ticketing, and corporate public relations.

Widener has received a transformational gift from alumnus Jack Dwyer '78 and his wife, Nancy Dwyer, to support the School of Nursing which will become the Jack and Nancy Dwyer School of Nursing. This is the largest gift received in university history.
