The Jack & Nancy Dwyer School of Nursing is one of only 16 schools nationwide to be named a best school for men in nursing by the American Association for Men in Nursing (AAMN). This is the first time that Widener has received this designation. Associate Professor Normajean Colby accepted the award at the AAMN's annual conference, and is quoted in this article about the significance of this recognition.

This article honors the life and legacy of Juliet Moringiello, who passed away in February 2025 and was a professor and associate dean for academic affairs at Commonwealth Law School. Colleagues from the American Bar Association's Business Law Section, of which Moringiello was a member, are quoted remembering her fondly.

Widener and the Philadelphia Union are partnering again for the “Work in Sports” field trips that expose area high school students to careers in professional sports. The three-day series kicks off today and will feature presentations by Widener business, communication studies, and physical therapy faculty members, as well as Union employees, highlighting topics such as game-day experience, high-end hospitality, sporting communications, sports medicine, player relations, ticketing, and corporate public relations.

Widener celebrated the unveiling of the Jack & Nancy Dwyer School of Nursing with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Oct. 1. The School of Nursing has been renamed for alumnus Jack Dwyer ’78 and his wife Nancy in recognition of their $10 million transformational gift to Widener.
