Milestone Reunions

This year’s Homecoming celebrated alumni from the classes of 1965, 1970, and 1975—representing key milestones in the university’s history.

The class of 1975 graduated at a turning point in Widener's history as it transitioned from the Pennsylvania Military College, or PMC, to Widener College. That shift resulted in a blended class in 1975 comprised of some of the university's first graduating civilians as well as the remaining cadets of PMC known as the "Last Rook Class."

Delaware Law School, which celebrated 50 years this fall, also celebrated its 1975 alumni for being its first graduating class.

Homecoming Traditions

On Saturday, the heart of the celebration pulsed across campus as alumni, students, faculty, staff, friends, and families came together for a day full of pride.

Founders Hall was busy with tours of the simulation center in the newly renamed Jack & Nancy Dwyer School of Nursing.

Widener’s athletic complex transformed into the Homecoming Tailgate Village hosted by the Alumni Association. The village featured a number of attractions such as beer gardens, food trucks, and a Wild Zone for kids and families.

Game On

The tailgate culminated with a number of varsity match ups for football, field hockey, and men’s and women’s soccer. Fans filled the stands at the Leslie C. Quick Jr. Stadium for pre-game and half-time entertainment ahead of football’s kickoff against the FDU-Florham Devils.

At halftime, the Office of Student Engagement presented the 2025 Homecoming Court, a group of eight students nominated for their leadership, spirit, integrity, achievement, and contributions to the Widener community. Rashem Bryant, a senior economics major, and Maritza Garcia, a senior nursing student, were named Homecoming Royals.
