Center for Education
The Center for Education’s undergraduate programs prepare future educators through meaningful field experiences, strong school partnerships, and a deep commitment to culturally responsive teaching. From their early coursework through a senior-year residency and student teaching, Widener students gain real-world experience in classrooms and communities while learning to support the whole child through our award-winning Community Engaged Teacher Education (CETE) program. Through CETE, students work in local elementary schools, collaborate with community mentors, participate in school and community events, and develop the empathy, cultural responsiveness, and practical skills needed to serve diverse learners—especially children and families in under-resourced communities.
