Administration & Finance

The Administration & Finance Department is responsible for the financial and operational management of Widener University, as well as the implementation and oversight of Widener University policy and procedure in accordance with government regulations.

Bursar's Office

Hours of Operation:

Mon-Fri, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Office of the Bursar manages the cashiering, e-bills, and student account functions of the university. For example, the bursar is responsible for crediting student's account with any financial aid they receive and for the collection of outstanding tuition accounts.

Center for Civic and Global Engagement

Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Center for Civic and Global Engagement fosters co-curricular opportunities to educate, empower, and equip Widener students to become personally and socially responsible leaders and continually builds collaborative campus and community partnerships to further the university’s civic mission.

Communications Office

The Widener University communications team is available to help reporters and editors find the right faculty expert for breaking news, provide information about Widener University programs and initiatives, and serve as a resource for news and feature stories.

Compliance & Risk Management

Student safety is a high priority at Widener University. Compliance and risk management works hard to ensure that everything runs smoothly internally as well as externally at Widener to make the university the best it can possibly be.

Controller

The Controller's Office is responsible for administering the financial policies and procedures of the university. The Office is responsible for preparation of the University's financial statements, as well as compliance in financial, grant, and tax and federal, state, and local government reporting. The Controller serves as a resource to the university community for a variety of financial and accounting services.

Development & Alumni Engagement Office

Development and Alumni Engagement provides outreach and community-building services to 58,000 alumni of Widener University and its predecessor institutions (Widener College, PMC Colleges, and Pennsylvania Military College). The office staff supports the operations of the Widener-PMC Alumni Association and its governing body, the Alumni Council.

Government Relations Office

The Office of Government Relations serves as the primary liaison with the federal, state, and local governments. The Office cultivates and sustains relationships with legislative and executive branch officials and their offices in support of strategic institutional initiatives and priority projects.

Grants Office

Widener’s Grants Office is housed within the Department of Development and Alumni Engagement under University Advancement. The mission of the Grants Office is to coordinate and facilitate Widener’s mutually beneficial relationships with government, corporate, and foundation entities. The office can assist with identifying funders, proposal preparation, budgeting, reviewing and editing, submissions, and grant management.

Institutional Research & Effectiveness

The Office of Institutional Research & Effectiveness at Widener University provides timely analysis and information to support the decision-making, planning, and policy-formulation processes of the University. In addition, the Office coordinates the University's response to external requests for information.

Institutional Review Board (IRB) Office

The purpose of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) is to review proposed human subjects research in order to ensure that the rights and privacy of human subjects are protected and that the risk of harm is minimized.

Library Administration

Library Administration handles internal and external administrative matters for the Wolfgram Memorial Library, providing managerial leadership, strategic planning, resource management, and direction of the overall operations of the Library.

Library and Information Services

The Library and Information Services (LIS) division meets the research, teaching, learning and information needs of the students, faculty and staff of Widener University. LIS is comprised of the Wolfgram Memorial Library and Information Technology Services departments – Client Success, Information Security Office, Systems Administration, Technical Resources, Teaching & Learning with Technology (TLT) and University Systems.

Maintenance Main Campus

The Maintenance Office handles campus work orders and maintenance issues.

President's Office

The President's Office oversees all university administrative operations and academic affairs. It drives the fulfillment of the university's mission and vision, and its commitment to putting all students on an inside track to success.

Provost's Office

As the university's chief academic officer, the provost is responsible for working collaboratively with the associate provosts, school deans, faculty, staff, and administrators to achieve the institution’s academic priorities. The provost also has direct responsibility for all academic support units and works with the president, chief financial officer, and academic leaders allocating financial resources to address Widener’s academic and financial health.
