About Me
I graduated from Rosemont College with high Honors where I published my master's thesis: Transgressive Abjection and the Monster (A) Part.
Continuing my research in the evolution of gothic literature, my particular focus is on the modern horror film and performative horror in theatre. With an emphasis on this oft-disregarded genre, my interests in the classroom tend toward approaching subjects that are rarely given critical attention. My background in theater and film informs my desire to foster a dynamic and interactive classroom that employs mixed media and "performance" as pedagogical tools.
Treating writing as a mode of performance allows students of the art to take ownership of the words and their work, whereby the written word something of an extension of the self. Hence, the study of English becomes self-exploratory and intensely intimate, allowing those willing to engage the opportunity to better understand themselves and the world in which they live.
