Experience Real Life Science at Widener University's Next Generation Scientists Summer Camp!

This camp provides an excellent opportunity for budding high school age scientists (current grade 7 - 11) to explore subjects as diverse as astronomy, biochemistry, biology, chemistry, environmental science, engineering, forensics, sustainability, and mathematics. The program allows students to witness scientific experimentation and discovery while providing a unique opportunity to meet with college faculty who are also professional scientists, along with Widener undergraduate science majors.

This event will include scientific sessions in biology, chemistry, engineering, forensics, and mathematics. Students will have the opportunity to attend an evening smores and stargazing event on Monday, June 22nd and lunch with current Widener University research students on Thursday, June 25th.

Featured Activities: 

  • Workshops in multiple disciplines, led by Widener Science faculty
  • Green workshops and a tour of Taylor Arboretum
  • Smores event and stargazing on Monday evening, June 22nd
  • Interactions with current science undergraduates
  • Certificates of achievement awarded to students who complete all workshops

  • When: June 22-25
  • Open to: Current 7th - 12th graders
  • Cost to Attend: $250 (includes lunch and a t-shirt)
