Widener-Union Partnership Shines at Title Match

As the presenting sponsor for the Union’s game against the New England Revolution, Widener had a presence throughout the day at Subaru Park in Chester with students, alumni, faculty and staff all in attendance.

Since becoming the official university of the Union in 2023, Widener’s partnership with the local Major League Soccer team continues to expand offerings to campus. Students gain access to a variety of hands-on opportunities from internships and job shadowing, to research projects and ticket discounts.

Highlights of Widener at the Union

🪖Dauntless Battalion ROTC - Presented colors for the national anthem
Ceremonial First Kick – The kick was delivered by Chris Vadino, Widener locksmith and Union super fan, to Union midfielder Cavan Sullivan
🗳️ Student Research – Sports & Event Management students were on-site collecting data surveys on the fan experience
🦁 Chester and Melrose – The Widener duo joined their Philly mascot colleagues to wish a happy birthday to Phang, the Union's mascot
